Lyclear Creme Rinse 2x59ml

Lyclear Creme Rinse 1% 59ml is a pharmacy-only head lice treatment containing permethrin 1% w/w. It is used to treat head lice and their eggs in adults and children over 6 months of age.

The treatment is applied directly to freshly washed, towel-dried hair and scalp and left in place for just 10 minutes before being rinsed thoroughly with water. A fine-toothed comb is included in the pack to help remove lice and eggs following treatment.

Permethrin belongs to a group of medicines known as pyrethroids and works against head lice. One 59ml bottle is generally sufficient for shoulder-length hair of average thickness, although additional product may be required for particularly long or thick hair.

Who is it suitable for?

Lyclear Creme Rinse is suitable for adults and children over 6 months of age with head lice.

Do not use in babies under 6 months unless specifically advised by a doctor. Treatment of children up to 3 years of age should only be carried out under close medical supervision.

How to use

Wash the hair with a mild, non-conditioning shampoo and towel dry. Do not use a combined shampoo and conditioner before treatment.

Shake the Lyclear bottle thoroughly and apply enough product to completely saturate the hair and scalp. Pay particular attention to behind the ears and the nape of the neck.

Leave on the hair for 10 minutes, then rinse thoroughly with water and dry the hair as usual. The enclosed fine-toothed comb can then be used to help remove lice and eggs.

If live lice are found again 7–10 days after treatment, treatment with permethrin should be repeated. If the infestation remains active after 14–20 days, an alternative treatment should be considered following advice from your pharmacist or doctor.

Active Ingredient

Each 1ml contains 10mg permethrin, equivalent to permethrin 1% w/w.

Important information

For external use only. Do not use if you are allergic to permethrin, other pyrethroids, pyrethrins or any of the other ingredients. If you are known to be allergic to chrysanthemums or other plants from the Compositae family, speak to your doctor before using Lyclear.

Avoid contact with the eyes. If accidental contact occurs, rinse immediately with plenty of water. Keep out of the sight and reach of children. Do not store above 25°C and keep the bottle in the outer carton.
